WHAT ABOUT THE ART? CONTEMPORARY ART FROM CHINA

An exhibition from 15 contemporary Chinese artists curated by internationally acclaimed New York based Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, presented in the context of Qatar China 2016 Year of Culture. After his solo exhibition at Mathaf in 2011, Cai Guo-Qiang returns to Qatar to present an exhibition featuring 15 contemporary Chinese artists and collectives working in a variety of media. Artworks exemplifying each and every artist’s unique artistic language and methodology will be displayed in individual galleries, a curatorial approach further highlighting the distinctive creative pursuit of each individual participant.

The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is bringing Ramadan festivities with a 1001 Nights-inspired Ramadan Tent at Al Wosail Ballroom. It will feature live carving stations, regional cuisines, salads and desserts. Guests can relax with live music and Tanoura dance entertainment enjoyed from the main dining area or private majlis seating.

Banana Island Resort by Anantara

Banana Island Resort will host guests at their Azraq restaurant for Iftar and Sohour, with an array of international cuisine, live cooking stations, specialty beverages, and sweets and desserts.

As part of the celebrations for the Global Wellness Day that falls on 11 June which occurs this year during the Holy Month, the Wellness center will be dressed up to welcome resident and non-resident guests with a special designed slimming program. These programs are designed specifically with guest’s wellbeing in mind.

The elevated tranquil indoor botanical Zen Garden is all set up with TV screens for guests to enjoy the Euro Cup 2016 football whilst enjoying their Sohour at the resort.

Banana Island resort will also celebrate Garangao, the traditional mid-Ramadan celebration, which is special to the Gulf region. The children visiting the island will sing traditional Garangao songs and generous gifts of sweets and nuts will be distributed to all attendees.
